Regulations on naming of businesses,

1. General provisions on the name of an enterprise:

🔰 The name of an enterprise must be written in Vietnamese, may include numbers and symbols, must be pronounceable, and contain at least two of the following elements:

▶ Type of business: Written as “limited liability company” or “limited company” for limited liability companies; be written as “joint stock company” in the case of a joint stock company; written as “partnership” in the case of a partnership; written as “private enterprise”, “private enterprise” for private enterprises.

▶ Proper name: Written with the letters of the Vietnamese alphabet, the letters F, J, Z, W, numbers, and symbols.

2. Enterprise name must be located at the head office:

⚡ Business name must be located at the head office, branch, representative office, or business location of the enterprise.

⚡ In addition, the business name must be recorded in the business registration application, the business registration certificate; printed or written on transaction papers, documents, and publications issued by enterprises.

3. Foreign language enterprise name and abbreviations:

✔ Foreign-language business name is the name translated from the Vietnamese name into one of the foreign languages ​​with the Latin script. When translating into a foreign language, the enterprise's proper name may remain the same or be translated in the corresponding sense of the foreign language.

✔ The enterprise's foreign language name is printed or written in a smaller font size than the enterprise's Vietnamese name at the enterprise's premises or on transaction papers, documents, and publications distributed by the enterprise onion.

✔ In case the enterprise has a name in a foreign language, the name in the foreign language of the enterprise is printed or written in smaller font size than the Vietnamese name of the enterprise at the head office, branch, representative office, business location of the enterprise or on transaction papers, documents, and publications issued by the enterprise.

✔ The abbreviation of business must be abbreviated from the Vietnamese name or the name in a foreign language.

4. Duplicate and confusing names:

️⛳ A duplicate name is the name of the enterprise requesting registration written and read in Vietnamese completely similar to the name of the registered enterprise.

️⛳ The following cases are considered confusing names with the name of a registered enterprise:

➥ The Vietnamese name of the enterprise requesting registration is read the same as the registered business name;

➥ The Vietnamese name of the enterprise requesting registration is only different from the registered business name by the symbol “&”;

➥ The abbreviated name of the enterprise requesting registration is the same as the abbreviated name of the registered enterprise;

➥ The name in a foreign language of the enterprise requesting registration is the same as the name in a foreign language of the registered enterprise;

➥ The proper name of the enterprise requesting registration is different from the proper name of the registered enterprise by natural numbers, ordinal numbers, or Vietnamese letters following the enterprise's proper name, except where the enterprise requesting registration is a subsidiary of the registered enterprise;

➥ The proper name of the enterprise requesting registration is different from the proper name of the registered enterprise by the word “new” after the proper name of the registered enterprise;

➥ The proper name of the enterprise requiring registration is only different from the proper name of the registered enterprise by the words “north”, “south”, “central”, “west”, “east” or other words has the same meaning, except where the enterprise requesting registration is a subsidiary of the registered enterprise.

5. Prohibitions when naming a business:

💫 Naming the same name or the name is confusing with the name of the registered business.

💫 Use names of state agencies, units of people's armed forces, names of political organizations, socio-political organizations, socio-political-professional organizations, social organizations, social organizations association - a profession to do all or part of the proper name of the enterprise, unless approved by that agency, unit, or organization.
